Prompting in Stable diffusion: Bioluminescence

Today I want to show you a cool trick in prompting your text to image AI art, which is called Bioluminescence.

Bioluminescence is the fascinating phenomenon where living organisms produce light through a chemical reaction within their bodies. It is found in a wide range of organisms, including bacteria, fungi, marine invertebrates, and some fish.

The light produced by bioluminescent organisms serves various purposes. In many cases, it acts as a form of communication. Fireflies, for example, use their bioluminescence to attract mates, with each species having its unique pattern of flashes. Some deep-sea creatures produce light to lure prey or confuse predators. The anglerfish, for instance, dangles a glowing lure to attract smaller fish, which it then captures.

The process of bioluminescence involves a light-emitting molecule called luciferin, an enzyme called luciferase, and a source of energy, typically adenosine triphosphate (ATP). When luciferin reacts with luciferase and ATP, it produces light without generating heat.

The diversity of bioluminescent organisms is remarkable. Marine environments, particularly the deep sea, are rich in bioluminescent species. The famous “milky seas” are vast areas of the ocean where bioluminescent bacteria create an ethereal glow on the water’s surface.

Researchers are studying the mechanisms behind bioluminescence to develop new technologies, such as bioluminescent markers for tracking gene expression and bioluminescent sensors for detecting pollutants.

Overall, bioluminescence showcases the astonishing adaptability and beauty of nature, providing a captivating display of light in the darkness of the natural world.

The prompt I have used is this:

Negative prompt:

text, signature, frame, bad composition, jpeg artifacts, deformed body, too many limbs, bad anatomy, poorly drawn hands, too many fingers, disfigured, poorly drawn face, ugly

In this prompt vivid colors, dark background and psychedelic suits very well with the mood of the image.

It works well with animals too:

Prompt:

bioluminescent portrait of a wolf, dark background, vivid colors, psychedelic, trending on ArtStation, detailed and intricate

Negative prompt:

text, signature, frame, bad composition, jpeg artifacts, deformed body, too many limbs, bad anatomy, disfigured, ugly

In this case there is no need to include the hands tags in the negative prompt, about the limbs of animals AI get confused quite often.

Then at last I generate “my own” jellyfish bioluminescent image:

In this case prompts are much simpler:

Negative prompt:

The modei I have used is Dream Shaper

I think vivid colors and psychedelic are redundant, some jellyfishes are bioluminescent in their environment so I think there is no need to emphasize the color tags in this case.
